Wall Primer 1

Wall Primer
Mastercoat Wall primer is suitable for application on exteriors as an undercoat to the exterior emulsion.
Applying primer over new surfaces seals the original material so that the paint doesn’t soak into it, requiring extra coats. Primer also helps to hide joints, or seams, on new drywall, and it prevents bleed-through from knots and other natural blemishes and coloring in the bare wood.
Advantages:
- Using a primer will allow for a more true color.
- It will aid in durability of the top coat.
- It will allow the user to achieve a darker color with less coats.
- It will require fewer top coats for an even coverage.
- Painting without a primer is a waste of money. Unless you are using a hybrid paint and primer in one, it actually costs more money to apply multiple coats of paint. Primer is meant to provide a sealed surface that can be easily patched and sanded. Whereas using multiple layers of paint without a primer will not be as durable or repairable as the proper process would be.
